World Pillow Fight Day is Saturday. Check out their site for a list of cities participating around the world. The New York event, organized by Newmindspace, has added a “no feathers” policy. This sounds like a good idea after the recent hubbub in San Francisco.

InViSibLe HoMeLesS Man

Thursday, April 02, 2009 | 0 Comments

Filmmakers in Düsseldorf, Germany tried to capture attention of the population and to make people care more about homeless people and turned a news-paper salesman into an invisible man. They used a simple trick to make everybody focus on the "invisibe" nature of the homeless people. That's a nice thing to do, isn't it?!

A group of “activists” from Barcelona, Spain, called ‘Difusor’ and known for theire guerilla projects in the public space stroke again. Their latest project was improving an old decaying bunker from the Spanish Civil War, covering it with pink camouflage. As you can see here, the bunker was already covered with graffiti. Lucky them, who managed to get away without the charges for vandalizing a historic site! Or maybe congratulate them and say “Good work! Keep it up”. :) [Urban Prankster]

ObaMa GiVeS QueEN An iPod

Thursday, April 02, 2009 | 0 Comments

Apparently, President Obama arrived at Buckingham Palace today bearing gifts for Queen Elizabeth II. What does a man of Barack Obama's power and stature get for the woman that truly has everything? How about an iPod loaded with video from her 2007 visit to the US (Gee...thanks? Actually, she already has an iPod, so I'm assuming she will be regifting that). Not to be outdone, the Queen presented Obama with a framed picture of herself. [Telegraph]
Something even better. The Obamas made the Queen look very small as they stood next to her to take some nice pictures at the Palace. Play the video below and observe how tiny the Queen seems to be.

d.billy added tags reading “past,” “present,” and “future” to three payphones in the Times Square subway station. So if you’ve ever wanted to give the past of the future a ring, now’s your chance.

An Egyptian had a brilliantly simple idea and equipped his car with a fifth wheel. Thus, the inventor use this wheel to get with his Renault in parking spaces with higher difficulty levels. If you know the inventor, don't hesitate to contact us. :)

Cats see at night very well. It's not the same during the day, at least this is what the following video shows. This feline which is initially on the qui vive, finally sets on the hunt for a fish and jumps against the glass of the aquarium. Funny!

Old ScHooL GooGLe

Wednesday, April 01, 2009 | 0 Comments

As I was surfing the internet today, I found this really old school image of the famous google search engine. Imagine how it was like: Just write down your query, send it as a letter to google and wait for the answer. It brings back memories of the times when internet was only future imagination. Maybe it never existed like this and it's all about april fools. :)

The origin of April Fools' Day is obscure. One likely theory is that the modern holiday was first celebrated soon after the adoption of the Gregorian Calendar; the term referred to someone still adhering to the Julian Calendar which it replaced. In many pre-Christian cultures May Day (May 1) was celebrated as the first day of summer, and signalled the start of the spring planting season. An April Fool was someone who did this prematurely. [Wikipedia]

The Hotelicopter turned out to be fake. After the press from all around the world reported about this luxurios flying object, it all turned out to be a campaign for Yotel airport hotels. The rendered video obviously also reveals the fake aspect of the hotelicopter. [BoinG BoinG]
